Partnering with Early Childhood Professionals
to promote social & emotional health of Arkansas children.

Project PLAY connects childcare programs with FREE Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation throughout Arkansas. Our services help child care staff and families prevent, identify, treat, and reduce the impact of mental health problems among children from birth to age 6.

During visits to child care programs, Project PLAY consultants help staff guide children with challenging behaviors. Consultants identify caregiver strengths, facilitate effective problem solving, and become a sounding board for staff frustration. Their position allows for some objectivity and confidentiality, yet they are close enough to join staff as they nurture children and manage the stress of their jobs. Occasionally consultants may work directly with a child or family.
