The University Hospital of Arkansas (UHA), located on the campus of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), serves as the primary teaching site during your residency. At UHA, you receive training in numerous areas including OB, inpatient family medicine, geriatrics, and emergency medicine. Pediatric training throughout residency occurs at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, a nationally recognized facility, a short distance from UAMS. The John McClellan Veterans Administration Hospital is the site for training in internal medicine and gynecology as well as one site available for elective training. Private community hospitals in Little Rock and around the state also provide training in in- and outpatient surgery, OB and cardiology.

The Family Medical Center (FMC), located on the UAMS campus, serves as one of the clinical training sites for the FP residents.  The FMC combines excellent clinical facilities with space for conferences and individual study. Computer workstations are present in each patient room to access the electronic medical record. Access to the Internet, Ovid and other clinical decision making software programs are available to residents over our computer network.

The second training site is the College Station Clinic, a Community Health Center, in College Station, Arkansas.  College Station is a small rural community about 7 miles southeast of UAMS.
