Arkansas Early Childhood Care & Education Financing: Cost Modeling & Market Price Analysis

The following studies from the UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, Research and Evaluation Division (DFPM-RED) examine the current and near-future financial landscape of child care and early childhood education providers in the state of Arkansas.

These 2019 reports utilize two different approaches, cost modeling and market price analysis, to estimate provider costs, what providers charge, and the appropriateness of state subsidy rates. The market price report also analyzes state subsidy rates by county to determine if they meet the federal definition of equal access. Taken together, these reports will help inform policy decisions that support the growth of high-quality child care across the state.
