Lauren GibsonWhat is your home town?

Boulder, Colorado.

Where did you attend medical school?

Caribbean Medical University, Curaçao.

What other educational credentials do you have?

B.S. in biology from the University of Colorado.

M.B.A. from Davenport University (Michigan).

What are your particular clinical interests?

I am a firm believer in preventive medicine and the power of early intervention and a healthy lifestyle to prevent future disease. I truly believe that the health of the person as a whole is the key to a happy and healthy life! I am also passionate about women’s health, particularly in adolescents and early adults.

Why did you choose Family Medicine?

I chose Family Medicine because I feel like that is where I can make the biggest impact. Being that physician that the entire family can rely on I think is very important for the health of the individuals as well as the family unit. I love the idea of caring for patients throughout all walks of life and developing long term physician-patient relationships.

Why did you choose the Little Rock Family Medicine residency program?

It was very important to me to be in a residency program that is PCMH certified. I also loved the facility, staff, program structure, and Little Rock itself. This program also offers the opportunity to learn procedures and allows for the residents to explore the fields that interest them the most.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?

Outside of medicine, I enjoy being outside and active as much as possible. I love practicing yoga and trying out new forms of exercise whenever I can. My husband and I love exploring new places and trying new food. Baking, specifically special-occasion cakes and cupcakes, is something that I love doing for my friends and family. Sewing is also one of my hobbies that I do whenever I have free time.
