What are your particular clinical interests?

My clinical interests include outpatient family medicine, preventive care, mental health, evidence-based practice, and ethics in clinical trials. I am excited about discovering newer areas of interest as I go about my residency training.

Why did you choose Family Medicine?

I have been working in the field of clinical trial management for many years. My role in coordinating trials for a new malaria drug took me to rural areas of India, Africa, and Bangladesh. Witnessing the strong need for access to primary care surely left a lasting impression on me. I also feel drawn to Family Medicine because it will enable me to maintain the close relationships that I have always envisioned for having with my patients.

Why did you choose the Little Rock Family Medicine residency program?

I feel fortunate to be in the UAMS Little Rock Family Medicine Residency program! Little Rock has been my home away from home since I moved here almost 6 years ago with my husband and two sons. All these years, I have always heard good things about the program. These positive impressions got further reinforced during the interview day. I came back highly impressed by the program’s well-rounded training curriculum, faculty members who were eager to share their knowledge and experiences, a team of enthusiastic residents, and inspiring strong leadership. I truly feel the program will help me in achieving my goal of becoming a skilled, caring, and competent family physician.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?

In my spare time, I enjoy crossword puzzles, live theatre, experimenting with fusion cooking, and group fitness classes. Adventure sports fascinate me. I have done sky diving, bungee jumping, and white water rafting in recent years, and I am always looking forward to opportunities to try more. I find spending time with my family and friends rejuvenating.
