I am passionate about the comprehensive approach in Family Medicine practice. In addition to traditional care delivery as a Family Medicine practitioner, I am looking forward to incorporating population health principles, chronic disease management, patient engagement, patient education, and primary care-based research into my practice.

Why did you choose Family Medicine?

My professional, personal, and social experiences in my life so far have made me realize the importance of preventive care, health maintenance, and chronic disease management. Taking care of patients’ episodic medical needs along with an enriching and engaging partnership with them in their life-long health care journey is my passion.

Why did you choose the Little Rock Family Medicine residency program?

The Little Rock Family Medicine program is well-structured with a perfect balance of teaching, training, and innovative methodologies of research related to Family Medicine. I believe that the excellent leadership, faculty, support, and administrative staff of this program made a perfect platform for me to be trained as a competent Family Medicine practitioner dedicated to making a positive difference in every patient’s life in the community I serve. The UAMS Family Medicine program also has several unique attributes that are very exclusive to this program. Population research, education, and coaching activities handled by the Research and Evaluation Division are of high relevance to today’s call for action on tackling chronic diseases, substance abuse, mental health disorders, and health adversities related to social determinants of health. Engaging Family Medicine residents in research projects, presentations, writing, and publishing manuscripts is a very novel and unique way to prepare the future Family Medicine practitioners to be healers, leaders, coaches, educators, and mentors.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of medicine?

I love to travel. I use swimming, dance, and cooking as my favorite de-stressor activities. I find it interesting to learn new skills, hobbies, and make social connections.
